HAWAII FIRESTORM

UPDATE: DAUSA is working with local agencies to offer help in several different phases of the recovery process. Immediate needs are great which is why we partnered with the Maui Food Bank to provide 20,000 meals to their community. We are in discussions with 3 other agencies, about clean water solutions, Debris Teams, and help with Points of Distributions (PODS), and of course the long term rebuilding phase. DAUSA's Goal is to fill the gaps where needed and help those in need most, where your Donation will go the farthest.

DAUSA is currently assessing the situation and needs through our partners already on the ground. Access and space is very limited, so clogging up the system is not something we want to do, we have qualified people we know already there that can relay their assessment to DAUSA. We will then start addressing the needs. This is a Historic level tragedy for Hawaii and their needs are and will be great. Please donate so we help those in need with vital aid and resources.

People were literally jumping int the sea to save their lives. Death toll currently 90 and expected to rise as many are still missing.
Hawaii Governor Josh Green said, "There is very little left" of Lahaina. Without a doubt, it feels like a bomb was dropped. It will undoubtedly be the worst natural disaster that Hawaii ever faced."
With resources on the island being precious, they are trying to protect their residents as much as possible. They are urging all outsiders that hotels, vehicle rentals, etc., are needed for the survivors. About 46,000 residents and visitors have flown out of Kahului Airport in West Maui since the devastation in Lahaina became clear Wednesday, according to the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

About Disaster Aid USA (DAUSA):

DAUSA is not a first responder but provides "Smart Aid" and disaster relief assistance to those in need after a disaster. Every natural and man made disaster is different where all needs cannot fit in a plastic box. With "Smart Aid" we make sure we provide the needed aid for that particular disaster within our capabilities, while working together with Rotarians, NGOs, and other Government aid sources. Some of the disaster relief capabilities we provide are; debris removal, chainsaw debris removal, gutting and mucking, dry-wall /plaster, mold treatment debris removal (interior & exterior), just to name a few. This is all possible because of YOU the donors who fund these deployments to our Disaster Aid Response Team Members.

DAUSA has trained Disaster Aid Response Team (DART) members throughout the U.S. When a disaster occurs we contact the leading disaster relief organization including the Rotary District Governor(s) making them aware of DAUSA and its capabilities and its readiness to provide the needed aid and assistance to those who are in need. We make sure to work together with other disaster relief organizations to divide up the work and make sure we're working together to give aid as fast as we can to the survivors. If required we will also step up to be the leading disaster relief organization if necessary.

Upon request, DAUSA will respond to the need if not deployed elsewhere. We are equipped stocked trailers with disaster related equipment and tools accompanied by its team of trained DARTs and work together with Rotarian and non-Rotarian volunteers provided by the effected Rotary District or Zone.

Disaster Aid USA (DAUSA) is Rotarian operated project and a 501-c3 non-profit charity, incorporated in the District of Columbia. As a club project, its clubs goals and objectives are to promote and create awareness, raise funds and provide financial support for its primary mission: To provide immediate disaster relief and humanitarian aid at home, here in the US and worldwide to those victims suffering from the effects of disasters natural or man-made while using Rotary's guiding principles and according to its Rotary 4 way test, while adhering to United Nation and Sphere Standards.
